While recovering from the Flu, I watch the NOVA show on building the Eiffel Tower.
What a neat show!
One thing that jumped out was that the original tower had a 20 year lease, and was supposed to then come down.
Seems that radio changed that!
Before the demolition became reality, the French Military discovered that using the tower for radio work was strategically an advantage.
