Jeep Jeep – a 1957 Jeep FC150 Joins the Fleet

A new-old thing, one very similar to my Grandfather’s Jeeps.

FC-150s are by definition “pug nosed”

When the Jeep FC-series (Forward Cab) were new, my Grandpa Spike had these for both his construction company and own personal use.

From old pictures there seems to have been more than one, and as best I can make out they were drawn from both the FC-150 (four cylinder) and FC-170 (six cylinder) models.

One of the Company FC-150/170s in a lineup.

This one is a 1957 FC-150, which in FC-nomenclature is a narrow-track original series 4-cylinder gas engine 3-speed version.

An older restoration this particular FC-150 has a rear PTO (Power Take Off), and an added 1970’s vintage cassette-radio with speakers. The rims were changed to something more modern along the way, as were the rearview mirrors.

The Rear PTO was a option/add-on, and yes there are some decals to go back on the tailgate

Otherwise is seems like what rolled out of the factory 65 years ago.

After the retro-logo our company used back in the day is painted on, pretty certain the cassette-radio and rattling speakers will disappear.

Operating Position – the cassette-radio will likely go

I’m thinking we could put some VHF gear in place or even something HF. The idea of making contacts while “parade mobile” somehow seems appealing!

Anticipating mostly parade and charity event duties for this one.
