For Those Who Serve – ARMAD 2007

“ARMAD- 2007” is MAY 26, 2007

0900 – 1200 noon (Central Time)

ARMAD is an annual Amateur Radio Special Event project that stands for Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day.  We work with National Military Appreciation Month during the month of May.  We also provide other events and work with other groups as requested during the year.  Amateur Radio Operators from around the world team up during this joint effort to allow the people from our communities to gather at public locations such as shopping centers, parks, VA hospitals, and sporting events to express verbal positive support “LIVE” over two way radio for members of the Military, Veterans, Reserves, National Guard, Retired, Coalition Forces, and military support groups.  Many of us have friends, relatives, and neighbors that are active duty, and past members of the armed forces.  ARMAD gives us the chance to support one another, and to express our thanks and appreciation to those that sacrifice and serve in the Armed Forces.

  1. On behalf of ARMAD I would like to say thanks for your support. ARMAD is an event that has been started to help promote Amateur Radio, and to salute our Troops, and Veterans. We invite all Amateur Radio Operators to join in for a great time of QSO’s and ragchewing during ARMAD.

    Thanks again!

  2. ARMAD ( and The Ft. Wayne 912 Group ( ) will hold an event called “A Salute To Those That Serve.”

The date will be Saturday. May 28, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at The Classic Cafe 4832 Hillegas Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This Venue is also the Home of Post 499 American Legion.

We would like to solicit your efforts to help us get the word out by contacting Local Amateur Radio Clubs in your communities to get them involved. We also need help notifying as many area 912 groups, patriotic groups, and Tea Party groups as possible in NE Indiana, and throughout The USA. We invite their members to share this information with military families, readiness groups, and local Reserve, and National Guard Units to let them know that they are welcome to attend this event that is intended to honor our Troops, Veterans, Military Retired, and their families.

We will work with various Veterans Groups, local and State Government, Amateur Radio Clubs nationwide, and military organizations in Washington DC to get us listed as a major event, of Military Appreciation Month (, and for Memorial Day weekend.

With our combined efforts this event has the potential to be a Military Pride Rally that will be remembered for years to come..

We also request area motorcycle clubs take part in this event.

There will be a short program and rally, followed by games for the kids. If you have any other ideas or would like to help with contacting groups, the media, or area businesses about this event please contact us.

Working together we can make this event a fun, exciting, and honorable time of remembrance for our Veterans, military families; and those that serve in our military.

If you would like to help us or plan event in your area to coincide with ours please contact me at or Judy or Ed Ross at
