As I have been working on finishing the thoughts I had put together before I posted the question, and then adding in thoughts from the comments, I realize that resulting post would be so long as to be never read.  

So I am dividing the post into small parts to be released every few days.

All will follow this format below and I do welcome your comments. 

First article idea will post tomorrow, if I did the scheduling part of WordPress correctly.

I believe the best way to find the positive hams is to volunteer at public events and get involved. By being positive you can find the positive. In my area there is also a 2m traffic traffic net, where many of the same positive hams are involved. Now I don’t expect anyone to be positive 100% of the time or always have the time to be an “Elmer”but the hobby is what you make it. Too many of our great hobbyists have become SK so it must be us to continue the great traditions of the hobby such as Elmer ing.
