I’ve been impressed with the interest in my previous post What in the World is Apple Thinking (or Not Thinking About)? – Apple Gores Itself….
Several well thought out comments have ended up part of this blog. The thought put into them has been impressive.
Less impressive have been the mischief comments and out right rude comments.
Mischief Comments one can understand – the perception of humor is never equal among all of us, and what might have seemed funny might not come across well.
The Rude ones fall into groups:
- you’re stupid/get a life comments posted by the least thinking readers
- you missed reason xyz and therefore you’re stupid/get a life comments which appear to be comments posted by the same unthinking readers who haven’t even taken time to read the article with its previous posts.
- how dare you have an opinion not approved by Apple comments posted by Apple enthusiasts who seem to assume I am an Apple-hater and do not realize I’ve been a Mac user since 1984 (rather Orwellian that, eh?) and write this blog on a MacBook.
Needless to say these comments don’t see the light of day. I am sure these authors can find time to post them on their own blogs!
There is most certainly room for all opinions – just remember the rude ones won’t get to share my bandwidth! And we have to remember we are all “Armchair Quarterbacks” and do not have access to Apple Corps internal thinking, marketing plan and what their pre-posting test survey’s showed the likely response would be.
My concern that the down-side/up-side balance of politicizing the Apple product after spending millions bringing it center-mainstream will play out over time.
We can all watch and see.
