Mark, Remember that until the FCC approves this radio for USA sales, that Array Solutions cannot offer it for sale.
At Dayton we were unable to convince Array Solutions to even allow one out for doing a review.
With the dollar moved so adversely against the Euro the guideline costs may have to change as well (and not likely to our favor).

If the PT-8000 gets to the usa market, expect price to be much more than Ft-9000 and ic-7800.
my question is: if the fine radio would ever sale in the usa??

Hello Frank NQ2T !
I know of several amateurs who have said they will be ordering a PT-8000 as soon as the FCC allows it to be sold in the USA Market.
While the price seems high compared to a typical radio, when compared to what the top of the line gear cost relative to other items in the 1960’s the PT-8000 is not “expensive” the way that gear was.
And that gear sold.
I’m not likely to be a PT-8000 customer right away, but if the rig proves to be as good as the indications are I might rework my shack around one.

Hilberling stops production of the PT-8000, because of European Union bureaucratism. They blocked the production with useless laws. This is an shock for all of us.
European union officials, shame on you!

Die Produktion der PT-8000 Geräteserie ist eingestellt worden.
Durch die anhaltenden Widerstände, die wir bei der Erfüllung der behördlichen EU-weiten Herstellerauflagen zu überwinden haben, waren immer wieder Anpassungen am Design dieses Spitzentransceivers notwendig. Die sehr hoch gesteckten Entwurfsziele des PT-8000 konnten in einigen Prototypen erfüllt werden. Diesen hohen Standard mit vielen Zulieferern in einer Serienproduktion ohne Einschränkungen zu garantieren, stößt aber auf Schwierigkeiten, die mit noch vertretbarem Aufwand nicht zu überwinden sind.
Wir bedanken uns für das große Interesse, welches uns während der gesamten Projektlaufzeit entgegengebracht wurde.
